The practitioner prepares the chosen area, applies a contact medium and keeps the radiofrequency handpiece moving while heat builds. Settings and exposure should follow the device protocol and your skin response, particularly around delicate contours.
The service is non-surgical: it does not remove skin, reposition deeper tissue or reproduce a facelift. Any change in firmness or line appearance is variable, may be modest or absent, and should be reviewed over time rather than guaranteed.

Tell the practitioner immediately if the applicator feels sharply hot, painful or uncomfortable. Redness, warmth, swelling, tenderness or bruising can follow, and burns or pigment change are possible complications.

The eye contour, face and neck cannot share one setting.
Medical history, skin condition, sensation in the area, medicines, implants and recent cosmetic procedures all affect planning. Active infection, broken or inflamed skin, pregnancy or a relevant electronic or metal implant may mean treatment is not suitable.

Ask the Glasgow teamWhy is it called a Face Lift if there is no surgery?
It is a marketing name for non-surgical radiofrequency. It cannot cut away loose skin or lift deeper facial structures in the way an operation can.
What will the handpiece feel like?
The area should become progressively warm as the practitioner moves the applicator. Report a hot spot, sharp heat or pain immediately so treatment can be stopped or adjusted.
Which parts of the face can be treated?
Available applicators may be used on selected face, neck or eye-contour areas. Delicate anatomy needs area-specific protocols, and not every person or zone is suitable.
Will I need all six sessions?
Not necessarily. A course of roughly 3–6 is often discussed, but it should be adapted to the device, area, tolerance and whether review shows enough value to continue.
What reactions and risks should I know about?
Short-term redness, warmth, swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur. Burns, blistering, altered pigment or an unwanted cosmetic outcome are less common but important possibilities.
What should I mention at consultation?
Disclose health conditions, reduced facial sensation, active skin problems, pregnancy, medicines, all implants and recent lasers, injectables, surgery or other energy-based treatment.
